Short description of the project

"The European dimension and the young people of Bulgaria"

The project “The European dimension and the young people of Bulgaria” is based on the idea to foster the cooperation within the Youth NGO-sector in Bulgaria by encouraging the dialog and the transfer of knowledge with international non-governmental organizations.  Such organization are the European Youth Forum and SOLIDAR, that have well developed networks and rich experience in activities as participation of the young people in the social and public affairs and the decision making on issues that concern them. The organizations mentioned, have agreed to take part as partners and consultants to the project in order to encourage the Youth NGO’s to work even more actively with the young people and to take more active part in the Youth Policy development on National level.

The proposal has several features that are:

• Establishment of an informal network inside Bulgaria linking local and regional youth organizations with Pan-Euopean structures as the European Youth Forum (EYF) and SOLIDAR.
• Building the capacity of Bulgarian youth NGOs providing social services for the young people and introducing them to models and practices already successful on European level when fighting problems of young people as drug-abuse, violence, racism and xenophobia, social integration of marginalized youth.
• Creating of effective models for monitoring and research in the field of youth that would enable to measure the efficiency of youth NGOs and their level of engagement.

The project will take place in the whole country’s territory within 16 months. Various measures have been envisaged to achieve the main goal of the programme and project.

The project is financed by the European Union.
